Strom Thurmond High School’s Class of ’18 qualified for $6,082,815 in scholarships. “This is the largest amount of scholarships in the school’s history,” said Landon Booker, head of STHS Guidance Department. Forty-four members of the graduating class received a scholarship this year. “Applying for scholarships can be a part-time job for students but in many cases it is worth the time and effort,” continued Booker.

In addition to scholarships from non-profits and corporations, the senior class received $360,000 in Palmetto Fellows, $145,000 in Life and $17,500 school based scholarships. Life and Palmetto Scholars are funded through the lottery and are based on academic performance.
