Honoring Our Golden Apple Teacher

Jennifer Bussey, the eighth grade English I teacher at Merriwether Middle School was awarded the Golden Apple Award. The Golden Apple Award is given out to dedicated educators who have been nominated by their students for exemplifying a true passion for teaching. These educators bring life to the classroom and instill a love for learning in their students. Mrs. Bussey truly does this for her students at MMS. Merelin Polanco excitedly shared, “Mrs. Bussey is a great teacher. She helps my classmates and me to understand a lot of difficult things that we are learning in English I. Thank you for being such an awesome teacher!”

“We are proud of Mrs. Bussey! She provides a classroom environment where students are actively engaged and participating in the learning process. Mrs. Bussey always puts her students’ needs first and develops innovative ways to reach all of them,” professed Principal Derek Forrest.
