ECSD Prepares for Influx of Military Families

The training was provided by the Military Child Education  Coalition. The enduring strategic goals that the Military Child Education Coalition seeks are:

  • Military-connected children’s academic, social and emotional needs are recognized, supported and appropriate responses provided.
  • Parents, and other supporting adults, are empowered with the knowledge to ensure military-connected children are college, workforce and life-ready.
  • A strong community of partners is committed to support an environment where military-connected children thrive.

The training provided will ensure ECSD’s staff learns how military children can develop skills and mindsets that contribute to hardiness and growth. Identifying military children’s sparks and interests allows them to meet personal and academic goals.

Research finds that two way communications between parents and educators required constant attention and that schools and educators play a critical role in the normalcy of military connected student lives. Educators fill a critical role of not only teacher, but mentors, coaching and guiding adults to these students.
